In the beginning, there was my golf profile...

So I work as a Heart Failure Nurse Specialist taking responsibility for caseload management of approximately 140 patients - that's serious stuff. That's why anything else I do in life must be for enjoyment and fun.  Family and friends are the heartbeat that keep me ticking over and I value these as priceless.  I would be lost without their love, support and humour.
I like to keep fit, knowing what illness does to the body, and I do work out , run and cycle  but I could never describe myself as a gym bunny or marathon runner or tour cyclist.  I do all these things to the best of my ability and if it stops being fun then it doesn't get done.  That's why I stopped making sponge cakes!
I'm passionate about music, reading and writing.  I can't imagine my house without the sound of music.  My taste is eclectic - my kids have been known to say "Mum, wow! you like this group.  So do I".  (Not bad for someone pushing on in their fifties.)  And my kids are right down there with the happening stuff.
Reading is just another kind of music.  I love to listen to the sound of words rolling and rippling off the tongue.  I can't remember when I wasn't mesmerized by the musical quality of words.  I figure if you strung a list of words together that made no grammatical sense I would still hear the music in them.  Maybe I should test this theory out and we could all stop worrying about grammar and syntax ......
And I've written and researched two books on my maternal genealogy.  Loved doing that.  Sadly, I don't have a famous, rich, aberrant or influential person in my family.  I'm just a Joe Ordinary from a very ordinary family but at least I know where my ancestors were hanging out in 1796.
I am currently writing part two of a witty novelette about some of my cousins.  Hmmm, did I say witty?  The main characters haven't read it yet.  I may have to go into hiding when they do.  However, I have survived part one's review......just.
Golf is something I watched for years.  Watched.  And then watched some more.  And did nothing about playing even though I soooooo wanted to.  But I figure there will come a time when I won't be able to smash it out in the gym and roll it out on the running and cycling front so it's time now to get proficient in golf.  By the time I'm 90 I'm hoping I'll be able to play a decent game.  And did I mention that I love being out in the great outdoors?  I love being out in the great outdoors.  When I was only on the driving range, I was
clinically diagnosed as addicted!  I'm very pleased :)
What's a skill set and do I need one of those in my golf bag?
